Bed of Roses
The square is inspired by the Jon Bon Jovi song – A Bed of Roses, which was playing on the radio during my drive home from work. As I sang along (completely off key), I thought about the Rosalee square I designed a few years ago, where the popcorn stitches resembled little rosebuds. This has been one of my favourite squares to date. Here is Rosalee and you can find the free pattern here: https://creativekogi.com/pattern/rosalee/ or on Ravelry here: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/the-rosalee-square
I wanted to make a square using the popcorn stitch (one of my favourite stitches) together with front and back post stitches and this is what I came up with… This square is also created for Granny Square Day 2021
Your yarn requirements are odd balls of whatever you have in your stash. I used a DK weight yarn with a 4 mm hook and opted for 3 colours. This square measures 20cm.
A very special thank you to Kim Lategan for testing this pattern.
